I'm starting to th...David, this is very timely. I'm starting to think some people are just naturally better at filtering but I am reassured by this post and constantly striving to improve my filtering skills (I often find myself with about 50 Firefox tabs open for sites I want to explore, to the horror of friends who know better how to focus!). Discovering information and people who provide it is one of the greatest joys of the way we can work today but assimilating large quantities of information can truly be overwhelming. Google plus looks to have strong potential for creating filters, as well as list-making in Twitter, Facebook (I now find professional info here through certain valuable pages) and other information flows.
